Description

The USDA-Southern Research Station (SRS) intends to issue a firm fixed price, sole source award to Samyak Solutions, Inc for procurement of an Ultimate Expert Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Optical Emission Spectrometer system, manufactured by HORIBA Instruments and distributed by Samyak Solutions, Inc. Delivery will be to at the USDA-Forest Service, Southern Research Station, Forestry Sciences Laboratory facilities located at 3041 Cornwallis Rd, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, 27709. The Ultima Expert ICP-OES Spectrometer is the only product that meets all below listed minimum specifications:






  1. Autosampler holds 20mls scintillation vials

  2. Full wavelength coverage from 160 to 800nm

  3. High or Low density holographic grating

  4. One meter focal length optics

  5. Resolution less than 10 picometers for the visible range

  6. Vertical torch with radial viewing mode

  7. 3 mm internal diameter alumina injector

  8. Torch is fully demountable

  9. Capability to separate narrow lines for analysis in various samples

  10. Can reach low detection limits between 5 and 11pm with radial viewing mode

  11. Sheath gas system for improved stability





This procurement is being conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) – only one source reasonably available. The anticipated award date is April 6, 2023. A solicitation will not be issued. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
