Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source:

The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Remotec Inc. (CAGE 0AJL2) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements.

This procurement is to provide maintenance services for the MK3 MOD1 RONS robot. The appliciable NAICS for this requirement is 811210 per the Performance Work Statement. Remotec Inc.’s, propreitary data is crucial in the maintenance of this equipment as it is precision equipment which assist the personnel with EOD removal and is vital to the safety of the MCAS Cherry Point personnel. Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required services as Remotec Inc., is the original equipment manufacturer and have the proprietary data. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Remotec Inc for the maintenance of the MK3 MOD1 RONS robot.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
