THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP), BUT RATHER A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ISSUED AS A MARKET RESEARCH REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. The Government is looking to identify interested and capable sources only. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or enter into a contractual agreement. The Government is not obligated to pay for information submitted in response to this request.
Fleet Readiness Center, East (FRCE), is seeking potential small business sources to provide a modification to the P76 Hoist. This requirement is to add a hoist to an existing bridge to make it a dual hoist.
The vendor would be required to disassemble and discard existing crane #300, design and build a new dual hoist, located in Building 4224 at the Fleet Readiness Center East (FRC-East) aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC, for the purpose of rotating a load utilizing two (2) hoists simultaneously on one (1) bridge.
The new configuration will require two (2) separate one (1) ton hoists on the single bridge. The upgraded electronics package will be integrated with the existing crane’s electronics and controls package. The upgraded crane will provide new required capabilities for lifting and rotating critical production processes.
Responses to this notice should describe the Contractors capability and experience with dual hoists. Respondents may also present any potential plan to team with other capable companies such as a Joint Venture, or Prime-Sub relationship. It is requested that respondents include its major products/services, primary customer base, number of employees, office location, CAGE Code, and a statement regarding its current Small Business Administration (SBA) business size and socio-economic classification under NAICS code 333923 to help the Government ascertain competitive capability. Responses shall be submitted electronically to the designated Contract Specialist, Joanna Schwab, in Microsoft Word format or Portable Document Format (PDF) at the following email address: joanna.l.schwab.civ@us.navy.mil. Failure to respond to this request does not preclude participation in any potential future competitive solicitation that may be issued. If a solicitation is prepared, it will be synopsized on SAM.gov prior to issuance, pursuant to FAR 5.204. It is the potential offeror’s responsibility to monitor this site for future notices.
