Description:

Davidson County Historical Museum will bring new life to its permanent exhibit, "The County Seat Comes of Age," through the implementation of an exhibit redevelopment plan. Informed by recent visitor feedback, the museum will work with an exhibit design firm to design, fabricate, and install four interactive exhibit components. The exhibit components will include a depot vignette, an agricultural interactive, an assembly line activity, and a digital kiosk. Together, they will encourage self-directed and hands-on learning about the history of Davidson County's socioeconomic development and meet the unique interests and learning styles of the target audiences. The project will result in a renewed interpretation of the exhibit's existing narrative, restore the exhibit's impact, and enhance engagement with the museum's fastest growing and most underserved audiences of preschool children, intergenerational families, and African Americans.
