DATE: December 20, 2023

Sealed Bids will be received by the Davidson County (OWNER), at the Davidson County Support Services Department.

at 925 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292

until 2:00 PM , local time, January 30th, 2024

for I-85 Corporate Park Future Lot 4 Grading .

At said place and time, and promptly thereafter, all Bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed Work is generally described as follows:

I-85 Corporate Park Future Lot 4 Grading –Remove material stockpiled on the southern end of Egger Parkway, transport the material to a location on the western side of Egger Parkway, and place the material in a manner that will allow future development to occur.

Female and minority firms are encouraged to submit bids for this project.

Bidders are advised that the Davidson County has established a goal of 10 percent (10%) minority business enterprises as mandated by GS 136-28.4. The bidder shall identify in the bid documents the minority business participation it will use on the project. Forms are included in the bid documents for this purpose.

Plans and Bid Documents are on file for examination at the office of Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc., 120 South Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Bid Documents and Construction Drawings may be obtained from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc. upon receipt of $50.00 Non-Refundable Plan/Bid Document Fee.

One complete original project manual obtained directly from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King must be submitted as the contractor’s bid. Bid documents printed from online sources or photocopied cannot be used for bidding. Bids will only be accepted from bidders listed on the Engineer’s Record of Plan Holders at the time of the bid opening. Copies of the Bidding Documents have also been provided, for review purposes only, to Carolinas AGC/IBuild for listing on their website www.isqft.com and to Dodge Construction for their website www.construction.com .

Contractors must be licensed contractors with either “Highway” or “Unclassified” license in the State of North Carolina, prior to being awarded this contract.

An optional pre-bid meeting will be held at 9:00 AM local time, January 9, 2024 at the Davidson County Support Services Department located at 925 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292.

The period for ending question shall be January 23, 2024 at noon.

Bids will be received on a unit price basis.

Bid security in an amount of 5% of the Bidder’s maximum Bid must accompany each Bid.

The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract.

Contractor and all Subcontractors will be required to conform to the labor standards employment requirements set forth in the Contract Documents.

This project is being Bid and financed by the Davidson County. North Carolina Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures dated January 2024, by reference, shall be used on this project.

Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, and will award to lowest responsible Bidder taking into consideration quality, performance, and time specified in Bid Form for performance of Work. Owner also reserves the right to waive informalities.

If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form for acceptance of the Bid.
