The project consists of improvements to the Town’s water treatment plant. The improvements include those related to solids handling for the plant as well as those needed to improve the overall treatment efficiency of the plant. Sedimentation basin modifications and structural repairs and filter media replacement. Raw water piping modifications. The installation of approximately 1,125 feet of 6 inch sewer line from the treatment plant to a manhole on US HWY 19E to discharge process water into the Town’s wastewater collection system. And the addition of a flow equalization basin.
The Town of Burnsville is requesting statements of qualification for professional engineering services, including, but not limited to, bid package services, construction administration, construction observation and inspection services for this project in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local requirements and regulations under the ARPA program. Scope of Work: Engineering services for each project shall include, but are not limited to, standard tasks necessary for the implementation of the project in conformance with the NCDEQ and ARPA compliance: 1. Conducting the bid process, including: a. Supervising the bid advertising, tabulation, and award process b. Preparing the advertisements for bids c. Sending direct solicitations to contractors including MBE/WBE firms d. Conducting pre-bid meetings (if required) e. Conducting the bid openings f. Issuing the Notice to Proceed g. Construction contract negotiations and preparation including negotiations regarding specs and pricing with lowest bidder 2. Conducting the pre-construction conference 3. Surveying, field staking, on-site supervising of construction work, and preparing inspection reports. 4. Aiding the Town with any necessary easement procurement from private parties and/or encroachment agreements with government entities such as NC DOT. 5. Review and approving all contractor requests for payments, change orders, and submitting approved requests to the Town. 6. Conducting final inspection, testing and any required closeout procedures upon project completion. 7. Submitting certified “as built” drawings to appropriate authorities |
