989001 Four Oaks Downtown Streetscape Pursuant to NC G.S. 143-129, sealed Bids for the construction of the Four Oaks Downtown Streetscape project will be received by Town of Four Oaks, at PO Box 610, Four Oaks, NC 27524 until 2:00PM local time on March 13, 2024, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Bids may be submitted by mail or courier and include a thumb drive with digital copies of all bid forms. Bids received after this time will not be accepted.

The Four Oaks Downtown Streetscape Improvements include a base bid consisting of improvements from the intersection of N. Main Street and Williams Street to just south of the intersection of S. Main Street and Woodall Street. The proposed work consists of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Main Street and Wellons Street, asphalt milling and resurfacing, asphalt paving with concrete curb and gutter, a vehicular tabletop with brick paving, pedestrian plaza space with seat walls, pedestrian stairs and ramps with handrails for accessible paths on each side of the street, concrete sidewalks, storm drainage inlets and piping, electrical meter connections for private services, electrical connections for town use, conduit to support installation of power, telecom, and light fixtures by utility providers, and landscaping trees, shrubs, and groundcovers.

Bid additives include improvements to Wellons Street between the intersection of W. Wellons Street and Church Street and the intersection of E. Wellons Street and Baker Street as well as Baker Street between E. Wellons and S. East Railroad Street, and Lassiter Street. Wellons Street and Baker Street improvements consist of asphalt milling and resurfacing, asphalt paving with concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, storm drainage inlets and piping, and landscaping trees, shrubs, and groundcover. Other bid additives include furnishings, additional electrical connections for town use, installation of water connection for town use at the pedestrian plaza and vehicular tabletop, and custom branded paver installation.
NOTE: Electrical and conduit plans and specifications will be included in the Project via Addendum during the Bid Period. Addendum #1 is anticipated to be released on or about February 9, 2024.

This project is a portion of the FY 2022 HUD EDI Community Project, Program Number B-22-CP-NC0545 that is financed with $2,999,000 of HUD EDI Community Project Funds.
